A Note From the All Kids Need Music President

Hi Friend, Wow! March has just flown by! I hope you are doing well, and that you have a moment to read about how U.S. orphan’s lives are changing because of compassionate people like you donating to our music charity All Kids Need Music.
Since our last newsletter, I am happy to report that we are now providing music lessons for ELEVEN orphaned U.S. children because of generous corporate and individual sponsors. We have SEVEN children waiting to be matched with sponsors, and can’t wait to offer them the benefits of learning to play a musical instrument. Just this morning we received an application from a foster child living in a group home in Ohio. He said playing music helps him deal with his anger issues. He is requesting a sponsor so he can learn to play the guitar. We need your help to get these vulnerable children sponsored as soon as possible with our music charity, as summer can be a tough time for children in foster care.
Each foster child we have the privilege of serving is being blessed with the joy that playing a musical instrument brings, healing from trauma, and the benefits of improved academic outcomes, sociability, and mental health.
Our team is working hard on some exciting projects. I just completed a course on trauma informed therapy, and our teachers are doing the same. This gives us the sensitivity we need to understand the ups and downs of the children we serve and to be an effective component of their healing.

We are writing grant applications to expand our service capabilities because the need is so very urgent. The grant process is time-consuming, and the award process is not a swift one, but we are in this for the long haul. In the meantime, we really do need your help, the kids just can’t wait.
Did you know that every year over 20,000 children age out of the foster care system without being adopted? They have to face adult life without a family, carrying with them the trauma of abuse and difficulties of growing up in the foster care system. When these kids age out of the system, the outcomes are usually not good – drug use, mental illness, pregnancy, homelessness, etc. They are ill-equipped to succeed as adults.
We want to help as many of these children as possible. Can you help? There are many ways to sponsor foster children through our music charity. We need corporate sponsors and individual sponsors. All Kids Need Music is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, so your gifts are tax deductible. Please be as generous as you can – the future of these children who have endured so much is at stake!

Changed Children

Meet Wesson! He loves music, has written a few of his own songs. Through a generous corporate sponsorship from JLC Roofing, Wesson was given 12 weeks of guitar lessons.
A Little More About Wesson –
Wesson is an active young teenager who is up for trying any new adventure. He recently tried fishing for the first time and really enjoyed it! His favorite sport to watch on television is basketball. He is not a fan of playing basketball, unless it is for fun with his friends.
He loves listening to music and has even written a few of his own songs. One of his favorite things to eat is Ramen with sugar in it (he definitely is original)! He is pleasant, energetic, adventurous, polite and fun to be around.
Do you know someone who would welcome Wesson into their hearts and home? Wesson is fourteen, and we don’t want him to age out of the foster care system without a family. Wesson would do best in a small family setting. He needs an active family that can keep up with his busy and active personality. He will need a strong male figure, but one who does not come off too stern. He thrives in an environment that offers good structure, routine, and consistency.

You can also choose to give to the area of greatest need when helping kids with All Kids Need Music. You can make a single gift or a monthly recurring gift. And remember, it changes childrens’ lives and is tax deductible as an additional benefit to you. Please visit us HERE to learn more!

Business Champions
Businesses that sponsor music lessons and instrument rental for at risk youth are first and foremost changing the lives of the most vulnerable children in the U.S. As a thank you for the generosity of our business partners, our music charity All Kids Need Music provides an effective platform for businesses to build their brand around their corporate generosity.
Research proves that corporations that give back have a significantly higher brand appeal and loyalty rate. Corporations engaged in social good also positively impact their own employees at work satisfaction and company loyalty. Being a champion for at-risk youth provides the opportunity for employees to stay in touch with their sponsored child, providing a source of joy and sense of being cared about for children who in many instances have been terribly abused and discarded.
