A Note From the President
Dear friend, Over the years of teaching music, I noticed that there were always students unable to participate in the music programs because it requires a musical instrument and additional school fees. This hit me hard because the children who need the benefits of learning to play a musical instrument are the least able to be able to do so. Research strongly illustrates that music has the power to transform children – providing joy, increasing academic performance, and decreasing stress levels. At risk youth absolutely need these benefits, as well as the positive reinforcement from a caring instructor. As a result, I began finding ways to help kids myself. I quickly realized there are far too many children in need than I can provide for personally, and so All Kids Need Music was born. It is a non-profit organization and charity for children dedicated to making sure that the children who need the benefits of learning to play musical instruments the most have access to the transformational power of playing music. Donations are tax-deductible!
We are currently serving children who are at the greatest risk in our country – those who have been abused and neglected. Because the abuse was unmitigated, these vulnerable children were removed from their parents, placed in foster care, and their parents’ legal rights to the children were severed. This makes them orphans, living right here in our own country. They have endured so much already, and while they no longer live in life-threatening circumstances, living in group homes in foster care is very tough. They move an average of three times per year, negatively impacting any positive relationships with caring adults. They often have to change schools so their academic progress is impaired, as is their ability to engage in the extracurricular activities that other children do.
They desperately need the healing therapy of music. We provide the musical instrument and a caring music instructor. No matter where they live or if they change schools, their instrument and instructor are there for them. This is helping kids increase their self esteem, gives them something to call their own, and helps improve academic outcomes, while decreasing stress and depression levels.
The need is so very urgent. There are hundreds of thousands of at risk youth in the U.S. foster care system. We want to help as many of these children as possible. Can you help? There are many ways to sponsor foster children. We need corporate sponsors and individual sponsors. All Kids Need Music is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, so your gifts are tax deductible. Please be as generous as you can – the future of these children who have endured so much as at stake!

Tyranny (Ty) loves music! Through an incredibly generous gift from Brent and Kristy Henry of Brent Henry Racing fame, Ty was given 52 weeks of vocal lessons. His group home manager let us know how much Ty is enjoying his lessons and his vocal instructor…
“Thank you so much for the lessons. Ty is really enjoying Sergio!! Thank you again for this special gift.”
A Little More About Tyranny
Tyranny is creative and has a contagious smile. He enjoys building objects with Legos. Tyranny enjoys being outdoors, riding his bike, skateboard, playing with Nerf guns, and playing on his flag football team. Tyranny believes the best in people. He likes to help and serve. He recently had a $100 shopping spree where he bought things for other people before spending any money on himself. Tyranny has made friends in the neighborhood and has gotten involved in his church choir. He did a solo of the song Silent Night!
Tyranny wants an active family who loves to play and have fun together. He would do well in a two parent or single parent home with no younger children. When asked about family Tyranny said, “I want to be with a family, period. But I want to be with a family that has fun a lot together.”
Tyranny was born in 2010.
Above all else, Tyranny wants a forever family. Please share this newsletter with others and help tell Ty’s story. You can find out more about Ty at: https://www.childrensheartgallery.org/profile/tyranny
