On November 30th, our Giving Tuesday goal is to raise $160,000.00. This goal allows us to provide therapeutic music lessons for 1,000 U.S. orphans and underprivileged children. We need your help in giving and in spreading the word.
The need is so very urgent. We are just scratching the surface. There are over 400,000 abused/neglected children in the U.S. foster care system. At any one time, there are between 3,000 - 4,000 orphans needing our help. This is not even counting the over 16% of U.S. children that live below the poverty line, and entire schools serving this population that are currently waiting for our help.
Our current All Kids Need Music students prove that U.S. orphans' and underprivileged children's present and future are changing in wonderful ways because of you. Let's expand the healing! On Giving Tuesday, EVERY DONATED DOLLAR will go to child sponsorships. NOW is the time to stand together, take action, be radically generous, and bring healing and hope to 1,000 abused U.S. orphans that continue to suffer. Then, let others know you stepped forward in radical generosity and encourage them to do the same (instructions below). <<First Name>>, let's do this together!
So grateful we are serving the children together,
All Kids Need Music

Why be a Champion for U.S. Orphans?
All Kids Need Music serves U.S. orphans - children whose parental rights have been severed because of life threatening abuse and neglect. While they are physically safe and provided for in the U.S. foster care system, child welfare agencies are not able to heal the hearts and minds of these orphans from the trauma they have experienced at the hands of those who were supposed to be loving and caring for them. You honestly don't even want to imagine what has been done to these child victims.
The trauma is compounded by their status as orphans. They believe no one wants them, and that they will never have a family. They move an average of three times a year, which often means changing schools, always means changing group home managers/caretakers, losing friends or any close relationships they were able to make. Eventually they shut down emotionally. Many don't bother to unpack, or keep their clothes in a pillowcase. They quit letting themselves get close to anyone because it hurts too badly every time they have to uproot again. Depression deepens, hope fades away, and they exist to someday get out of foster care, believing they will face life alone with no family. It is beyond tragic, beyond heartbreaking, and yet it happens every day in our own cities and towns.
These orphans have suffered so much through no fault of their own. Without intervention and without adoption, U.S. orphans that "age out" of the foster care system experience mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, incarceration, crisis pregnancies, and even suicide at alarming rates - much higher than other young adults their ages. We simply cannot let this happen to thousands of children right in our own backyards. They deserve a chance for a future that is better than their past. Please join our movement of Radical Generosity to bring hope and healing to children who deserve a chance and need to know they are not forgotten.
Why Music Therapy & Why All Kids Need Music?
The majority of children who have suffered life threatening abuse and neglect experienced horrific physical and emotional harm. Healing from the physical wounds is often a much more straightforward path than healing from the emotional wounds. These abused orphans experience PTSD at twice the rate of the U.S. military. They suffer from anxiety disorders, depression, anti-social behaviors, suicidal ideation, and in many instances very poor academic outcomes. While they remain safe, fed, and sheltered, their hearts and minds are still broken.
All Kids Need Music provides a musical instrument and a trauma trained music instructor for each sponsored orphan. Music therapy has many scientifically proven benefits, including making great progress in healing PTSD, decreasing depression, improving social skills, and dramatically improving learning outcomes. Music therapy provides a safe place to express pain and despair, while creating pathways for positive forward progress.
All Kids Need Music also provides consistent, positive mentoring. While U.S. orphans move an average of three times a year, our instructors stay with their students because lessons are online through Zoom. The mentor's positive input remains constant, and the children bloom in this nurturing, safe environment. It is exactly what they need to heal and have hope. It is exactly why we urgently need your #RadicalGenerosity on Giving Tuesday!
